With ink in his veins and an instinct for storytelling, Matthew Kolk brings a printer’s precision and a publisher’s vision to Design + Decor Magazine. A third-generation printer, Matt grew up surrounded by paper, presses, and the hum of production—learning early on that the power of print lies not just in how something looks, but in what it communicates.
Before launching Design + Decor, Matt worked in a printing brokerage, honing his skills in targeted marketing and understanding how to connect with specific audiences. When he relocated to Southwest Florida, he noticed something missing: a magazine that reflected the region’s vibrant design and building community. The idea for Design + Decor began humbly with his brother-in-law on graphics, friends lending their talents, and Matt doing whatever it took to bring the concept to life.
That grassroots beginning continues to shape the magazine’s voice today. Matt approaches each issue as both editor and craftsman, curating content that looks beyond the glossy surface of design. He’s drawn to the creative problem-solving that defines the building industry and to conversations that challenge conventional narratives—stories about zoning laws, craftsmanship, and community growth alongside the stunning homes themselves.
Under his leadership, Design + Decor has become more than a magazine; it’s a platform for thoughtful dialogue about the spaces we build, and why they matter.

Dynamic, driven, and endlessly creative, Shelley McCormick is the powerhouse behind Design + Decor Magazine’s success in both Southwest Florida and the Tri-State area. With a background in casino and hospitality marketing, Shelley built her career in fast-paced, high-touch environments where creativity, relationships, and timing were everything. That experience laid the foundation for her natural fit in the world of luxury design and lifestyle publishing.
Drawn to elevated markets and meaningful storytelling, Shelley thrives on building connections and bringing bold ideas to life. “I love when people trust me to fully engage my creativity; it’s when my best ideas take shape,” she says, and that passion drives everything she touches. Whether developing new partnerships, crafting campaigns, or brainstorming with clients, she approaches each opportunity with imagination and precision.
As Publisher, Shelley has her finger on the pulse of the community in Florida and the Northeast, staying deeply involved and visible across the regions she serves.
